Given the important role of the private sector, and of multinational seed companies in particular, in increased food production amid population increase, climate change, and the depletion of resources, this project seeks to apply and revise conceptual models of multinational corporate formation while undertaking an analysis of the mechanisms through which multinational seed companies expand into developing countries. In addition, through an analysis of the existence and channels of overspill effects in the countries and regions targeted for expansion, as well as the nature of cooperation with the public sector, the research aims to shed light on the mechanism of overseas expansion by multinational seed companies and its influence on agricultural production in the new regions. This research is expected to establish the necessary conditions for the creation of an efficient PPP (Public Private Partnership) in areas in which agricultural production is expected to rise through an increase in agricultural productivity.
