Sustainability Science will host an international symposium to enhance global partnerships in the evolving academic field of sustainability science and to commemorate the journal’s 10th anniversary. The event is being co-organized by UNU-IAS, the University of Tokyo, and the Sustainability Science Consortium (SSC), in collaboration with prominent researchers from around the globe.
The symposium is organized under the theme of “A Look Back at Research Progress and a Look Ahead to Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)”. The purpose is twofold:
The symposium will be split into two sessions, beginning with speakers’ commentary on the evolution and current landscape of sustainability science while looking back at 10 years of relevant research. This will be followed by another session discussing future research directions for sustainability science and sustainable development goals (SDGs) in the coming decade. The details of each session and the speakers are listed below.
Between the sessions, we will be conducting a poster session for students and young scientists. To participate, please refer to the call for abstracts as well as poster guideline documents under the Related Files tab. The deadline for submitting an abstract for consideration is 17 February 2017.
The event will be held only in English. Participation is free but a limited number of seats are available. For more details and registration, please visit the UNU-IAS website.
